Ruskin Clay

Ruskin Clay (Guitars and Vocals) - Ruskin writes most of the songs for Reckless Surrender.  He began playing music at a very young age.  While they were all still very young, Ruskin, his brother, Raleigh, and one of his best friends, Grover Warren, started a band.  It wasn't long afterwards that they named the band "The Blewits", because every time they played music, they blew it!

Not long after that their youth pastor, Shawn Beadle joined them and taught them a lot about music. Later one of the pastors in DesAllemands joined them along with Warren Freeman on drums and formed the band "Breath of Life".

Ruskin is an ordained minister.  He is a full time  pastor at Cornerstone Church in Macon, Mississippi. Ruskin has been serving there since 2010.  Before that he served at Ocobla Baptist Church for six years.  Starting back in 2000 he shared the role of youth pastor for four years in DesAllemands, La with his good friend Grover Warren.

Ruskin loves to speak at revival and youth related events and is a very sought after speaker in Louisiana and Mississippi.  If you are interested in having Ruskin come and speak at your event, contact him directly at ruskin@ruskinclay.com.

Feel free to visit his website - www.ruskinclay.com.

One of Ruskin's favorite scriptures is Romans 2:4.  He is fond of sharing that the heart of that scripture teaches us that it's God's goodness that leads us to repentance.  Once we have an encounter with who God is, that is what changes us and inspires us to become who God would have us to be.

Ruskin also worked as a sound technician for many, many bands, both live and in the studio, before surrendering to the ministry.  He loves to tell stories about his time spent with some bands.  Some are funny, some are indifferent, and some are inspirational.

This ministry, Reckless Surrender, was started by Ruskin and Josh Swindle, to bring the message of Jesus Christ to the world and to proclaim God's Word through music, stories, and testimonies.
